About the founder
I've had dogs around me my whole life. They've been the best parts of my hardest years and the steady company through the easy ones. Anyone who shares a home with a dog knows what I mean: it goes well past 'pet'. They become family, and they change the shape of your days.
DogEmpires grew out of that. I kept hitting the same wall as a dog owner. So much of what's sold for our dogs feels lazy: generic, disposable, designed for shelf appeal more than for the animal it ends up with. I wanted to build the alternative I was always looking for. A small store that takes dogs seriously and treats every product like it's going to my own dog first.
That's still the test. If I wouldn't put it on my own dog, or hand it to a friend with a new puppy, it doesn't make it into the store.
Meet the team
Every person on the DogEmpires team has a dog at home, or has had one for so long it shaped who they are. We're not pet-industry veterans hopping to the next vertical. We're dog owners who happened to start a store.
That changes how we work. Decisions go past spreadsheets. We ask whether something would actually make life better for a dog and the human walking next to them. We pass on products that don't clear that bar, even when the margins look good.
Smaller team, fewer decisions made by committee, more care behind every order. Every package we send is one we'd be proud to send a friend.
Our mission
The pet aisle has been coasting for a long time. Cheap materials, throwaway design, products that work just well enough to keep you buying the next one. We think our dogs deserve a better deal than that.
Our mission is to be the store dog owners can trust without having to read every spec sheet twice. A small, considered range of products chosen and stress-tested against one standard: would we use it on our own dog, every day, for years?
We're not trying to be the biggest. We're trying to be the one shop you don't second-guess. The one you tell other dog people about because we got it right.
